There’s not a lot to get excited about on this week’s waiver wire. We find ourselves choosing between a lot of options that are less than likely to pan out for more than a few games. Continue reading
So Tom Brady is terrible, and Jake Locker is good? Is this really happening?
This Week 1 had quite a few surprises, including phenom performances from Julius Thomas and a not-quite-done-yet Marshawn Lynch. I was pretty pleased with Michael Floyd, even if he didn’t get me a win last night playing against his own QB, Carson Palmer. Continue reading
Tomorrow, August 24, Buffalo Wild Wings and Yahoo! Fantasy Football are declaring a national holiday, National Draft Day. A worthy cause, if you asked me.
As part of the festivities, Yahoo! Fantasy Football managers will be able to go to any Buffalo Wild Wings nearby for draft advice, free stuff, and to, of course, draft their teams.
Brad “Big Noise” Evans and Andy Behrens will be in Dallas and Minneapolis to offer their expert advice. Everyone else can join in online with Brandon Funston and Kay Adams as they host the day from the Yahoo! Sports studio, which will be streaming at every BWW location and to online users from 12 to 2 p.m. CST.
I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a nice little Saturday. I’m canceling my Pottery Barn plans.
Here comes the live blog. Join us for some foolish commentary on the 2013 NFL draft. We’ll get things going just before Eric Fisher takes the stage.
I know you’re hungry for more draft intel. Tired of hearing who the Bills will pick at No. 8? Me too.
Rather than dwell on that, here are a few essential reads to get you in the know before the draft.
First, Dr. Jene Bramel lays out which players could drop due to concerns about their health. A few top prospects may not go in the first round this year because NFL GMs can’t be sure they’ll return to their peak college form.
Next up, feast on some mock drafts from around the Web. We get two perspectives on who will go where via Rotoworld’s dueling mocks. And if that doesn’t wear you out, try on FFToday’s mock draft for size. Follow that up with Bruno Boys’ final mock of Rounds 1 and 2, and I think you’ll have reached your quota.
If you’re a history buff, jump into the top 10 picks of all-time by each franchise in the NFL and Pro Football Focus’ look at first round hits and misses.
And if reading isn’t your thing…how about we play some bingo?
The 2013 NFL Draft kicks off at 7 p.m. CST. See you then.
