Terrelle Pryor: Sleeper Fantasy Quarterback?

Despite the terribleness that is the Oakland Raiders offense, Terrelle Pryor may still have fantasy potential this season. Assuming he lands the starting job over Matt Flynn, Pryor adds a running threat to counter Oakland’s shaky offensive line. Also unlike Matt Flynn, he has the arm strength to hit the long ball passes to Oakland’s speed weapons like Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford if he can improve his accuracy.

But regardless of how he develops, much like Kaepernick and Cam Newton, Pryor’s potential running points make him worth a shot in the dark, as Eric Karabell explains in his video take on Pryor, especially for the low, low price of free at the tail end of your draft or as a waiver claim.

I wouldn’t count on him as a starting fantasy quarterback in any scoring system, but as a stash, he’s looking like a potential value pick right now.

  1. I completely agree. The guy starts one game last year, ends up with 20+ fantasy points. There’ll be plenty of 200-250 yard games passing with a TD, a couple of picks, and 50-100 yards rushing with a TD. Cam-lite.

    1. Glad you agree with me, @tmcneezy:disqus. Pryor’s already shown his ability to take over a game this season. If he puts it all together, I think he could be money. I’m keeping him stashed as a QB2 in all the leagues I can.
